Frequently asked questions

Short answers to the questions we are asked most often about ReviewDesk

Does ReviewDesk ever post anything without my permission?

No. A new organization has no automation rules, so nothing is drafted or sent. Replies go out only when you press send, or when an automation rule you created permits it — and every rule is subject to safety rails and a hard 500-per-day ceiling. Assistant-driven actions over MCP require an explicit confirmation step.

Which app stores are supported?

The Apple App Store and Google Play. No other storefront can be connected — Samsung Galaxy Store, Huawei AppGallery, and RuStore reviews will not appear in ReviewDesk.

How often are reviews synced?

ReviewDesk checks for work every 30 minutes and refreshes each app at least every 6 hours. Apps with a reply awaiting Apple’s moderation are checked more often. Each app shows its own last polled time.

Why can I only see 7 days of Google Play reviews?

Google’s API only exposes a rolling 7-day window. Reviews accumulate in ReviewDesk from the moment you connect, but history before that cannot be backfilled. This affects every tool built on the Play API. See Platform differences.

Why are my Google Play replies so much shorter?

Google Play caps replies at 350 characters, against 5,970 on the App Store. AI drafts are sized to fit, and the reply footer’s space is reserved before generating so it is never truncated.

What is the difference between sentiment and star rating?

The rating is what the reviewer scored. Sentiment is what the text says, classified independently. A three-star review describing a crash is negative; that gap is exactly what the "send negative reviews to draft" safety rail exists to catch.

Is "Most helpful" the same as store helpfulness votes?

No. Neither store exposes helpfulness data through its API. ReviewDesk computes its own score from rating extremity, content depth, and recency, recalculated nightly. See Filtering and search.

What happens if a store credential expires or is revoked?

The app moves to an Error status, syncing stops, and a credential-failure alert is raised. Generate a replacement credential and paste it in via Edit on any app in that account.

Can I migrate from another review management tool?

Yes. The same App Store Connect .p8 key or Google Play service account JSON you gave your previous tool works here — you do not need to generate new credentials.

Does ReviewDesk support SSO or two-factor authentication?

Not today. Sign-in is email and password, with a one-time code verifying your address at signup. The only OAuth in the product is the MCP connector, where ReviewDesk authorizes AI hosts rather than acting as a login provider.

Can alerts go to Slack or a webhook?

No. Alerts and the weekly digest are delivered by email only. There is no Slack, Discord, Teams, webhook, or helpdesk integration in ReviewDesk today.

Are any features restricted by plan?

No. There is no plan-based feature gating in the product — every organization has access to everything. The caps in Limits and quotas are operational safeguards that apply to everyone equally.
